Original email address keeps coming up asking for password.

Original email address keeps coming up asking for password. My current email address is now over seven years old, but I continually find my phone asking for the password for the old address. Very irritating and would like to find out how I can delete the old address. On my Apple details it does not show the old address, so I assume it is still aligned to App purchases.

Would love to get rid of the old one, particularly as i don't have the password and don't wish to change it just to get out of the constant requests.

Any help appreciated.

Check the App Store and iTunes Store to see if there are any updates for apps/purchases. A request for another Apple ID password is often caused by updates to apps/purchases that were made when using the other ID. Those purchases are tied to the other ID and can't be transferred. One option is to delete the apps/purchases made by the other ID and download them using the new ID if desired. If necessary, check your purchases history to see which apps/purchases weren’t made by the current ID.
