Have you signed out of the old address in System Preferences/iCloud (Apple ID for Catalina) and Settings/Your Name/iCloud? If you go to System Preferences/iCloud (Apple ID for Catalina), what ID shows there?

It's shows up asking to connect to iCloud on ALL my devices. I've used the new apple id for 3-4 yrs. Because of it, I can't seem to connect iCloud on the Mac here in vacation area and one at home. The iPhone and iPad and apple watch seem to be connected to ea. other.

Where is the old ID showing up? Is the requested address a different Apple ID or a previous address used with your existing ID?
