Enable Daisy Chaining Displays with MST on Macbook Pro

We are trying to find a solution for our corporate environment that will allow a user to plug directly into a monitor via USB-C DisplayPort and daisy chain a second display.

Currently the MST spec which enables this appears to be unsupported and the daisychained display doesn't appear to be detected by macOS and is only mirrored. Various threads have indicated that this is supported by the Macbook hardware as when a Mac is booted with BootCamp Windows the daisy chained display extends the display as it should.

Is there a way this could be enabled by modifying the OS? Or otherwise can an Apple engineer give a reasonable answer as to why this has been disabled?

It seems like this feature fits right in with the apple design principles of clean simple design as it would minimize the clutter needed for multiple monitors.

Frankly this should be embarrassing for Apple as our Windows machines work perfectly with the single cable no dock setup which looks incredibly clean but with our Macs there is no comparable solution that doesn't use splitters, docks, or multiple cables.

Contrary to popular opinion, Apple difference-makers do NOT troll the forums looking for issues to solve. Most readers are ordinary users like you.

As for Apple being embarrassed by anything posted here, forgetaboutit.
