Suspicious Call from Apple Support

I received a call saying that my iCloud account had suspicious activity. Can you confirm this was from Apple. When I asked the person to verify he told me if it was not Apple support he would not have called me. I ended the call

Any such calls are scam to phish for your personal information.

Apple does not make such calls.
