Cameras and flash not working on iPhone 8

Around August 17, my rear camera and flash stopped working. Took it to an Apple Store and they tried to replace the camera, but ultimately ended up giving me a new phone when that didn't fix the problem. Two days later the problem was back in the new phone, but this time it is both cameras and flash that aren't working. Apple Store tried to do a factory restore and set it up like new. This was effective for an hour until the problem returned. Two phones, same problem. I can't keep spending hours in the Apple Store! Any advice?

Yes. Setting the device up as new, and not using a backup should take care of things. If you restored a backup after setting it up as new would put the defective backup on the phone. The only other explanation I may think of is that you have an app that is causing the problem, but that is far fetched. I'm guessing it is backup, since two different phones acting the same is unusual unless there was a problem with a group of phones, and I've not heard anything like that.
