I have sent several test emails to friends and they have all said they have received the messages in their inboxes and not their junk folder so I think the problem is solved. Thank you everyone who answered my post.

The recipients are following this article https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202325
They should check the box of move mails to inbox , might be they have created any rules in the Mac / could be window computer , that all mails from particular sender should move to junk folder , for that they should disable the rules from the web server mail account ( the web mail account acts as a mirror if they have configured IMAP account ) , you don't know they are having pop account or IMAP account see some articles https://support.apple.com/kb/ph2650?locale=en_US

Have them Add you to their Safe List:
As the recipient, they need to configure that on their side.
Have the recipients to add you to their Safe List. It should go right into their inbox, unless their is other rules like: Send eMails from the icloud.com domain to Junk Folder
Thank you for taking the trouble to answer my question, I appreciate your time. What I actually did was change the outgoing server address from my broadband server to iCloud on the account server settings and my emails went through straight away to my recipients inbox. Hopefully this has solved it.
