Dock on iPad shows recently closed apps even though I have that option turned OFF in settings. Drives me crazy! It’s iOS version 12.4. Has anyone got any ideas how to make this not happen? Thanks!
Btw, it’s ipad Air not Pro.

After doing a little more research it appears that several other people are experiencing this same problem. I suggest submitting a bug report to Apple.

I’d like to confirm that the following option is disabled: Settings -> General -> Multitasking & Dock -> Show suggested and recent applications.
Yes. That is disabled
Apple should be aware of this. I complained to them on the phone way back when the dock came out!
If several folks experiencing this they should be aware and have fixed by now.
Its very frustrating
