One contact part of their phone number is deleted anytime I pull them up in contact book.

I had no problems texting or calling this contact until I got a new iPhone because my old one broke recently, if it helps I'm on AT&T and it is updated. This person has an iPhone as well and I receive their messages with no issue but when I go to reply back it now pulls up as a text message and never goes through. When I check their number in my contacts it has the last digit of the phone number removed.

I've tried correcting it and adding their number back but it continues to remove the last digit. I've even tried deleting their contact card and creating a new one and it still continues to do this. Some times my messages will go through and they will receive them but it's a 50/50 chance. Again this just started when I received my new phone. Has anyone experienced this or know how to correct it?

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! I understand that you're not able to save the full phone number for a contact in the Contacts app on your iPhone and messages to this contact sometimes fail to send. I would be happy to help provide steps to take next for this issue.

Let's start by ensuring iOS and carrier settings on your iPhone are up to date:

I also suggest deleting the contact again, making sure to remove any linked contact cards for this person. If there is no data from the message thread that needs to be saved, delete your conversation with this person as well:

Before creating a new contact card, try composing a new message, manually entering their phone number or Apple ID when composing the new message (don't use the suggested contact info that appears if Siri Suggestions is on).
