Cannot get Music Family Sharing to work

My husband added me to Apple Music family sharing in the Family Sharing screen it shows that I have Apple Music but in music app is says that I need to purchase it.

How ole do I fix this, we already tried logging off and on, removing family member and re-adding it but nothing works, can somebody tell us how to fix this we have been trying to get help on this for a year now?

Hi Renesita,

Thanks for posting. I understand you're seeing a message about purchasing when you use Apple Music, and you've done some troubleshooting already.

To clarify, are you saying that you see a prompt to set up your own subscription to Apple Music, or a message that you need to purchase the specific song you're trying to play?

Are other members of your family sharing group able to play music?

If you're seeing a prompt to sign up for Apple Music yourself, I recommend double-checking the below, from the article titled Get an Apple Music Family subscription:

"Get help

If you have issues with your Family subscription:

  1. Make sure that all members of the Family are sharing their iTunes Store purchases.
  2. Make sure that you're signed into the iTunes Store with the Apple ID and password that you use to share content with Family Sharing.
  3. Sign out of the Music app, and then sign back in."

This may have useful steps for you as well: If you don't see your family's shared content

I hope this is helpful to you. Have a good one!
