If it was purchased as an unlocked iPhone from Apple it will but you will have to return to the US for service.

I understand all iPhones are supposed to work worldwide, but I'm concerned that it may not work because of the information on this Apple page: https://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/

It shows the different carriers for different countries. I currently use an iPhone 6 with the main carrier here in Mexico, TelCel, and it works just fine. But if you look on the page it shows different models, for instance, I'm interested in the new iPhone 11 and it shows this model, Model A2111 (CDMA) but does not included Mexico. If you scroll down further the iPhone 11 shows Model A2221 (CDMA) and does include Mexico and the carrier TelCel. I've been trying to get someone at Apple to clarify but they are swamped with calls.

That is not true. There are numerous different bands of coverage from country to country.
