After migration, passwords do not work to login into accounts
I migrated to a new Mac. Now mine and my daughters passwords will not work. They still work on the old Mac. What do I do?

Well, it appears that for the moment the new Mac is totally useless, as you or your daughter can't log in at all -- is that correct?
Have you tried booting the new Mac in Recovery mode (hold down Command+r during startup), then opening a Terminal window from the Utilities menu, then type the following command in the Terminal window:
resetpassword
This will open another window where you can click one of the accounts (you need to make sure that the account you're resetting is an "admin" type account) and then enter the new password in the subsequent dialog and enter the same password in the box labeled "Verify Password" -- make sure to type the same thing twice. Then click the "Next" icon and then click the "Restart" icon on the next screen. The computer should reboot and now you should be able to login to the computer using the account you just reset the password for. If that works fine, use the "Users & Groups" System Preferences pane to reset the password for the second account. Ask for more details if you need help with that.
Hope that helps...here is a link to a YouTube video that goes through these steps if you wish to see more details https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8aRVPcP4CA
Good luck...

Hello NormN1,
Thank you for the post. I see you're not able to log in to migrated user accounts on a new Mac, and I have a resource that should help. I recommend starting with the steps below: Change or reset the password of a macOS user account
"If you don't remember your password, or it isn't working, you might be able to reset it using one of the methods described below. But first try these simpler solutions:
I hope this helps. If not, check out the link I posted above for steps on resetting the password to see if that clears things up.
Take care.
Thanks for the reply. I still have the old Mac next to the new one. I can login to both accounts on the old Mac with the passwords. The exact same passwords do not work on the new Mac. I even tried the same keyboard in case that was an issue. I can't get login to open the computer to get to Safari or iCloud.
Yes, I used migration assistant to copy everything to the new Mac. My user accounts were migrated. I can’t even get to the desktop. The user account passwords don’t work on the new Mac.
Thanks.
That worked! Thanks so much. Still odd that everything was migrated over but the passwords ...
Did you use the Migration Assistant to move all your old user files from old mac to new mac? Did that all work OK or were there any problems with this part of the setup?
If they don't work at all how are you logging in to the new Mac to even try Safari and iCloud or use it at all?
Need more info to give more advice.
Good luck...
