Trade in for new device
Am I able to receive my new device first before trading my old one in or do I need to return my old device before Im able to buy a new one?

Apple trade-in (in the U.S.) works something like this when doing it through the online store:
- Arrange the purchase and trade-in
- The third-party trade-in recipient sends you the packing material
- The new iPhone is ordered and shipped. Your credit card is billed the full purchase price
- You receive the new iPhone
- You receive the shipping material to send back the old iPhone
- You send back the old iPhone
- The third-party trade-in recipient receives and inspects the old iPhone
- The third-party trade-in recipient credits your credit card with the value of the old iPhone
