I bought a macbook pro from someone

i’ve had to reinstall the high sierra on the macintosh HD like 5 or 6 times & it keeps making me do it! it takes so long & i’m getting tired of it

If you are asked to re install it then it is probably an indication that the hard drive is failing and may need to be replaced.

Try and see if you can boot to your Recovery HD. Restart your Mac whilst pressing and holding down the Command and R keys.

The Mac should boot to a splash screen where you can select Disk Utility. If you get there click on View in the menubar and select Show All Devices. Now select the Disk and run First Aid, make sure you get a green tick, now select the Volume (the indented disk icon) and run First Aid again, if any errors are encountered run it again till the errors clear.

How are you installing High Sierra is it from a bootable USB or is it through internet recovery, if you are using internet recovery and wifi try a cabled connection to your router.
