Hi divankar,

Thank you for contacting Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it seems like there is trouble using and connecting to the App Store. I would recommend you use this article to help troubleshoot the issue.

"Update your account

If you're not able to access the iTunes Store, App Store, or Book Store because you can't log in with your Apple ID, learn how to reset your Apple ID password. If you recently changed your Apple ID or password, you might have to sign out and sign back in. To sign in on your iOS device, go to Settings > [your photo] > iTunes & App Store. Tap your Apple ID, sign out, then tap Sign In to log in again. Learn how to sign out on your Mac, PC, or Apple TV.

If you're asked to verify your payment information, make sure that your payment method, first and last name, and billing address are correct and exactly match what's on file with your financial institution."

If you can't connect to the App Store, iTunes Store, or Apple Books

Please don't hesitate to let us know if the steps resolved your issue or if you need additional assistance.

Cheers.

You need to update the payment method in the App Store, but you cannot do that if you are on Mac OS X Lion.

you need to upgrade your Macs OS, but you can only do that if you update your payment method in the App Store

etcetera, etcetera, etcetera, this is the Catch 22 Apple implemented over a year ago and have done nothing about it

even after being told many many times.

There is a way around it, do you have another Mac with a newer OS on it or can you borrow one. If you do or can login to the App Store using the Apple ID you use on your older Mac, then update your payment method. Go back to your older Mac and

see if you can now login to your App Store account.
