Xcode

I have Xcode installed so I can code C++, but I can never get it to run or do anything with any code I write. Does anybody know what I'm missing?

  • What sort of program are you trying to create? A GUI program, a command-line program, an iOS app, etc?
  • The run stuff lights up when the program compiles; when the build stuff completes successfully.
  • Was your C++ program here (presumably) created as a command line tool?
  • Does your C++ compile without errors?
  • Which version of Xcode and which version of macOS?

Are you looking to use the command-line C++ compiler, or are you looking for help running a C++ command-line app, or some help with using the Xcode GUI interface, or is your C++ code requiring some extension or add-on, or .... please kindly re-read your “bug report” here, and consider expanding the report with a few more details, such as some Xcode and macOS version information, maybe a C++ reproducer, and the commands or sequences used to compile and build and test the reproducer source code; details that might help the folks here to address the problem(s) being reported here. Maybe also what general problems or app requirements or app goals you’re seeking to solve with this C++ source code, too.
