Filed an AppleCare+ claim but someone found my lost phone almost two week later.

Hi,

So a couple weeks ago I lost my IPhone 8 Plus in a river, in the water, while kayaking with my family. The next day I filed my claim with AppleCare+ with lost and theft protection which erased my lost phone. I paid the deductible fees and they sent me a new phone which I had activated. Verizon called me a couple days ago to let me know a guy had contacted them claiming he was rafting in the same river and found my phone. I got in contact with him and he ended up mailing it to me. It turns on and appears perfectly fine. He said it was just dead when he found it amazingly enough. He took it home and let it dry out for an hour and then charged it and called Verizon when it turned on and worked. Now I have both phones and don’t know what I should do? Would assurant give me a refund if I sent them the phone that was lost? Should I take it to an apple store? What should my next step be?
