I have serviced a mac, and I would like a good replacement adhesive for the screen. What have folks used that works well, but does not prohibit future service? I dont want to get one that is too good, and you cant ever disassemble again!

I noticed your topic about having problems with topics being removed. Sometimes self-service on hardware topic can be touchy subjects since most hardware service is considered by Apple to be something to be done by Apple only unless it is clearly stated it is user-serviceable. A bit more tolerance is expressed if it is clear the hardware is so old Apple would no longer even consider looking at it (i.e., older than 5 years).
Yea, I'm getting that notion. I dont see this as being any different than opening any other laptop of any make or model. I've been doing it for years. Generally free for people that cannot afford the "prescribed" service avenues, that are prohibitively expensive. You can breathe life in these older macs and make them even faster (in practical terms) than new ones by a few simple upgrades, like an SSD and more RAM. I hope that statement doesnt get me banned. I also think I need a third party forum, as this one is seeming oddly political, in a manner of speaking.
I have already opened the mac. It was not all that difficult, for this seasoned tech. I just wanted the proper adhesion method that would not make it permanently glued, or to have it pop open some time later. The first responder provided that info quite quickly, and kindly.

Realize this is Apple's own support site and they deem what is suitable for their users. I can understand they might want to limit DIY topics because they may not want somebody coming here with a 6 month old iMac with an screen chip due to an accident (i.e., not under warranty), finding your topic and deciding to try and save a few bucks with DIY, then making a mess of it and saying, "Apple said on their site how I can remove the display and now they have ended up destroying my new iMac!"
I agree with the old computer stuff and I was noting it helps when it is clear this is in relation to something old enough and obscure enough so nobody with a new machine is likely going to try it.

Your welcome, they also have videos on each machine on how to open it. Be EXTREMELY careful particularly around the camera area or you can cut or damage the cables.
