Yea, I'm getting that notion. I dont see this as being any different than opening any other laptop of any make or model. I've been doing it for years. Generally free for people that cannot afford the "prescribed" service avenues, that are prohibitively expensive. You can breathe life in these older macs and make them even faster (in practical terms) than new ones by a few simple upgrades, like an SSD and more RAM. I hope that statement doesnt get me banned. I also think I need a third party forum, as this one is seeming oddly political, in a manner of speaking.
I have already opened the mac. It was not all that difficult, for this seasoned tech. I just wanted the proper adhesion method that would not make it permanently glued, or to have it pop open some time later. The first responder provided that info quite quickly, and kindly.
