Magic mouse battery plate stuck?

For anyone who purchased an Apple magic mouse in past years and all of sudden, can't remove the battery plate because the black release button doesn't seem to unlatch, please see this article and follow instructions. (Link at the end). My mouse is at least a couple of years old and kept getting stuck because I was too aggressive with the latch. Follow the advice in this post that another community user posted and it will save you from breaking apart your mouse. If you don't trust this link, just hold your mouse in the air so the battery plate is faced down, and very gently push the black button down. Voila! I couldn't believe it actually works. Here's the link for the tip(s) from this past post: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-9451
