Minecraft not connecting to the internet.

Hello, I just got a Macbook Air and I installed Minecraft on it. Minecraft single player works, but in multiplayer, it won't connect to servers. Like at all, it literally says "Can't connect to server", as if there was no internet. However, I do have internet, as I have wifi and all other things that need wifi (Firefox, Discord, etc) works on Macbook.

Some clarifications...

I downloaded the DMG minecraft and installed it to the application folder.

I downloaded the DMG directly from minecraft.net

I checked to see if the minecraft ports can be connected to, (checked to do this from an old post on here) and it worked

My minecraft account isn't the problem, I can play on my Windows computer.

My wifi isn't the problem, minecraft runs multiplayer on my Windows computer and I have taken the Macbook to other wifi places and still doesn't work

Macbook is connecting to IPv4 not IPv6.

I suspect that the problem is something on the Macbook isn't letting some part of Minecraft connect to the internet, as authentication is happening I think because it shows under my username that I am connected (this is shown before pressing play in the new launcher).

Please help, I really want to play Minecraft on my Macbook Air as it has significantly better fps then my Windows laptop (Windows laptop 20fps with Optifine/Macbook Air 80fps with Optifine).

Thanks.

MacBook

Perhaps this is a Faulty Device?:

You have a one year limited warranty from the Manufacturer: Apple

So, start by contacting Apple***, and request that a Genius Bar Appointment be Reserved. You would take this to your Local Apple Store, during which the battery and all other necessities would be looked at.

Rather than troubleshoot this, have Apple look into it. In the mean time, just let this device be in a no open, non-enclosed location.

  • Uninstall Minecraft.

Then reinstall it. Sometimes installations do not fully go through, and are they do not operate as intended.

  • Contact the Developer:

If that is of no success, then contact the developer and see if they have info on this. You can find their contact info in the Help Menu. Open the program to access the Help Menu.

  • Important:

Create a Time Machine backup of your Mac, so that you can have something to restore your Mac from, should anything go wrong.

  • Contact Apple:

As a last resort, contact Apple. See what they have to say about this. It may be a firewall setting issue.

Contact your Network Administrator:

Thank you for clarifying that. Talk to your network administrator, of your LAN as connections sometimes are static and need to be mandatorily setup (IP Address and all).

Use a Snapshot of the Window:

Take a screenshot of this window of this window. Show it to the Network Administrator.

Seems like Firewall settings are getting in the way here. So...

  • Remove Security Software:

Rid of any security software that you have installed on your Mac. Its is just a waste of space on a Mac. It would be getting in the way for firewall settings and parental controls.

  • Try MalwareBytes for Mac:

Download Malwarebytes for Mac Download it here: https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac/ This software is created by long-time Apple Users. So, download, run it, and rid of whatever is found.

I already uninstalled and reinstalled minecraft. The device is not faulty, I had the laptop checked by several professionals before receiving it (received it from my company).

You're giving me generic information and not actually assisting my problem. The problem isn't minecraft, its a setting from the mac.
