Apple Pay not available (to pay Apple Card)

When I go to post my Apple Card and choose Apple Pay it’s grayed out and I get the message “Apple pay not available right now”.

any suggestions??

You have to verify your identity first. Scroll down in the Apple Cash details page in wallet. Near the bottom will be a verify identity link.

It is because the amount is not enough in Apple Cash. Add money to Apple Cash and it should be available.

I have enough money in Apple Cash.

is Apple cash the only option for where the Apple Card daily cash goes?
