iPod nano: wireless earbuds/airpods compatible?

Hi All,

At apple store tech could not connect my iPod nano bluetooth, model MD47LL (version 1.0.4 mac; 4.2G would not pair up with AirPods. There were about 30 different AirPods, headphones, etc trying to pair up (I thought perhaps there was just too much noise to work).

Keen on a convenient source for my music, but can't take the wires anymore. Are there any iPods that would work with the AirPods? I will also contact bose b/c I like their "beats" fine.

Thank you!

Hello vesta822!

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. I understand that you’re interested in finding out which iPods will work with the AirPods. You’ll find that you can use the AirPods with the iPod touch (6th Generation) running iOS 12.2 or higher, as you can see in the Technical Specifications for both the 1st and 2nd generation models:

AirPods (1st generation) - Technical Specifications

AirPods (2nd generation) with Charging Case - Technical Specifications

Cheers!
