How do I send Unlocked files from Macbook to iMac?

When I transfer files via the Drop Box from iMac to Macbook they arrive unlocked. However, If I alter the file on the Macbook and transfer it back to the iMac via the Drop Box the file arrives locked. What setting do I need to adjust to have all files, transferred from Macbook to iMac, arrive unlocked?

MacBook

Thanks Guys, but your responses didn't help much but made me more determined to figure it out myself. From further investigation I discovered that the iMac knew me as Straight Shooter but the macbook knew me as straightshooter. By registering my alternate ID name into File sharing on each other computer I found my files now transfer as "read + write" in both directions as opposed to "read only" when transferring from Macbook to iMac.
