I just got gas in north Wildwood and was charged $100.00 for 18.00 and not one manager or employee knew what to

Was I ripped off by the employee that had me use I-Pay? How is this “ more common than I think?” Per management at Wawa? I feel like by allowing

I -Pay the gas attendant could of punched any total in? I’m new to this style of payment, but, it’s never happened with debit.

i insisted on a receipt as I was driving back from a long 3 days of family reunion, wee hours of the day morning last night.

I will not use this anymore. My hard earned money is subject for “who knows all the rules” or deal with it. $82.00 overcharged!!!!

how? Are gas pumps more vulnerable to theft??

please help. I am calling first thing in morning 😬👌🏼

Understand that I had more than enough to cover this purchase. However , when your bill reads $18.00 then adversely takes 100.00 via Apple Pay (which was not a problem with my balance) ?

I have spoken to GreenDot-Apple regarding this incident and I would just like to share that “it depends on the merchant “ “ my account will be corrected by the 19th!!!??” My visceral response has not changed. I believe the first person intentionally cancelled the $18.00 fuel payment while I was grabbing coffee and then tried 100.00.

If it a merchant thing🤷🏼‍♀️ My bank account was never touched

thank you

I am very new to this technology☮️

I wouldn't know about that since I have never borrowed or financed anything. Ever. I have also never gotten close to the limit.

Regarding the latter... HAVING a credit card and USING it - IS borrowing from the issuing bank

OR

IF American Express (or other "Charge Card") where balance is paid off monthly, she must be independently wealthy

Regarding the former... - paying cash in full for cars, homes & all other "big ticket" items - One must conclude that this immense wealth is inherited, as there is no way that one could EARN enough wealth without taking a loan to fund the business involved in earning the wealth

That is exactly my point. If you buy a candy bar for $2.00 and charge it, you've just borrowed $2.00 from the bank.

There we disagree. I don't have any loans where I pay interest. To me, a credit card is merely a convenient way to avoid carrying cash in my wallet. If I want to purchase something and there is concern that I won't be able to pay the statement in full, I just don't buy it.

If I'm offered a 4-year loan to buy a car, I save the appropriate sum each month and buy a newer and nicer version four years later. If I can afford four years of $200/month payments, I can also afford to save $200/month. On the flip side, if I can't afford to save $200/month, how in the world can I make payments of $200/month?

This is not a matter of being wealthy. It's a matter of living within my means.

If you don't pay interest, it is not a loan, it is a "gift" 😁

Up until the deadline for payment, it's an interest-free loan but it's still a loan.

That said, you have illustrated how a savings plan can buy a car.

Yes. I took out a loan for a car ONCE in my life (my first new car) and, when I calculated the "lost" money (the interest), I vowed that I'd never do it again.

Howzabout a house? Squirreling away for quite some time if one does not get paid a hefty sum for one's time and effort (sports superstar, are you?) 😉

A house is a different situation. Unlike a car or an iPhone or a candy-bar or anything else that individuals buy with credit cards, a house appreciates in value. When we bought our house, we wouldn't consider anything that we couldn't pay off in twenty years or less with the same monthly payment that we were spending for rent.
