iTunes not copying music to iPod classic.

I have a new iMac with latest iTunes. I have an iPod classic. I manually manage music. When I try to drag and drop a new album to my iPod (which iTunes is showing) nothing happens. No copying over takes place. Any ideas?

I have checked the disk stats and it does not appear that the iPod disk is failing.

I was able to copy the cds to my iTunes file on the computer but could not get them to transfer to the iPod while iTunes was on the computer. As a matter of fact, iTunes did not even acknowledge the iPod was connected. When I uninstalled iTunes, the computer acknowledged the iPod was connected and I was able to use File Explorer to transfer the entire iTunes file to the iPod. The computer indicates the music files are on the iPod, but none of them show up on the iPod screen. The only music I can access on the iPod is what was loaded from an older computer which used Windows 7 (years ago). Any suggestions on how I can get these new files to work on this iPod?

Ipod library doesn't show in itunes program on windows computer. Well! I'm working to move an itunes library from my wife's old computer to her new W10. I've rigorously followed all the directions for moving the library and apparently it has partially worked. There are 23 albums on the Ipod that downloaded when I installed the new program on her new computer and those show up in the itunes library just fine. There are a couple of hundred on the Ipod that don't, however. All of the music on both devices is accessible on the ipod, and if I open the ipod library on the computer, all the albums show up. But if I disconnect the ipod from the computer, the only albums that show are the ones that downloaded with the new program on the new computer. So. I'm thinking I have somehow gotten the libraries screwed up. Is there a way to fix this? btw: I have a couple of other questions I've posted elsewhere....

syncing itunes to ipod classic _mojave os I believe there is a way to sync itunes to a classic ipod, but I am unable to do so. I have connected my ipod with a cable to my mac and the device appears in itunes. The only place I can find the syncing option is in: Itunes>file>devices>sync. But sync is greyed out. the only option to select is "Transfer purchases from my ipod" In Itunes>preferences>General> I have unchecked ICloud music library and in Itunes>preferences>Restrictions> Disable> I have checked Apple Music . I also manually dragged songs onto my ipod using finder, but while on the Mac screen I can see the songs are there, they are not on my ipod. Please let me know what I am missing so that I can sync my ipod classic. Thanks!
