Is it possible to assign a managed Apple ID to a device or to a generic student? I have 10 ipads that could potentially be used by 60 students. I was thinking to just create 10 Managed Apple IDs (based on device name or student1-10 name) so the teacher could manage them.

Yes you can create them but that may not give you the full control you might be looking for.

I’d touch base with your IT and see if they don’t already have the default configuration already setup.

Yes, I use Apple School Manager. I see that is mostly talks about setting up students (people) in classes. I was just wondering if it is possible to set up devices as students.
