My car play does not always start up on my Ford ranger truck

When I plug in my iPhone 8 Plus into my Ford Ranger truck car play does not always start and it freezes or locks up my audio system and the screen. Ford has looked at it twice and can’t find anything wrong

Phone freezes when connected to Mercedes E350 As soon as I connect my phone to my car it freezes up and touch screen won’t work. This happens even if I’m within range of my car. Any suggestions on connecting my iPhone to my car?
