Screen repair

Hi all,

I need to get my screen repaired on my iPhone XR. I have heard some terrible stories about it costing a fortune to repair an X iphone with apple but I also read about a $199 cap on screen repairs for the XR. Just looking for advice as I won't get it fixed if its going to cost upwards of $400.
