How do I sync iCloud photos to my Photos app on my iMac? I have version 10.14.4

How does one view their iCloud photos on the iMac photo app? I'm not able to access it and only able to view the iCloud photos online.

One enables iCloud Photos in Photos > Preferences... > iCloud to sync your iMac's Photos library with the iCloud Photo Library associated with the same Apple ID.
