How can I force iPhone to stop turning Bluetooth and WiFi back on after I just turned them off in the Control Center?

Hiya. I’m pretty new to iPhone. Not best pleased so far. Seems like everything I want to do takes five more steps (yes, exaggerating) than on my old iOS phone.

And while I’m on the gripe, seems like every time a squirrel farts, my battery is dying (again, exaggeration)!

All banter aside (well, mostly; I’m in a pert mood), I’ve had serious difficulties navigating the system and making it do what I need and want it to do in the two or so months I’ve had it. Dragging icons from the right-hand screens to the left (aiming to slide them onto the primary home screen) is a real hoot, dadgum near impossible. It likes to force “nesting” into a folder when usually all I want is to nudge one shortcut over - then I have to delete this thing I didn’t want to create in the first place.

When I type a T, it all but inevitably inserts an R instead (and apparently isn’t capable of learning the dimensions of my fingers based on my corrections for its random fails).

It certainly cannot tell the difference between “it’s” and “its” in context - which is more forgivable in a person than a program. I am trying to be patient, but brimfire help me if I can stand an entire contract term of fixing my “it” issues when the system incorrectly autocorrects. It’s going to drive me up one wall and down the other with its shenanigans! I can’t in good conscience disable the autocorrect thing, I do typo pretty frequently thanks to the T/R misreads, but I surely want to nix it about half the time over “its.”

And don’t get me started on the bloatware apps that offer nothing whatsoever of personal interest and had to be individually removed, when they could be removed at all. Or the apparent impossibility of importing songs onto my iPhone from CDs I legally own in physical form, even if the CD is IN MY PC at the time I link them up. I mean, what do I need to do, send iTunes a picture of myself holding all the CDs I have? Cases too? Barcodes? I’d offer receipts, but I don’t have them anymore. Maybe throw in my firstborn while I’m at it? I was reluctant to jump on the mp3/whatever bandwagon for years and it feels so, so justified at this point. A CD has never required my credit card info “just in case.” A CD doesn’t make any demands at all! You buy it, it’s done, it works offline 100% unless it’s borked, etc etc.

Today’s issue, though - the one that finally forced me to get back into my Apple ID thingy after who knows how many days of not needing it in the slightest - is especially vexing. I can’t seem to make the WiFi and Bluetooth stop coming back on in the same day after I’ve toggled them off in the Control Center. It says they *won’t* come on until the following day, but it is lying through its proverbial teeth! I turned them off when I went in a public library. I sat down, and the next time I looked at my phone BOTH were toggled on - and I didn’t touch it in between. I looked at the help article about it, and apparently even when that’s all turned off in the Control Center, it’s technically still on and gulping my battery (even in Low Power mode)?

Oh man, really... I agreed to give up iOS for all this! I should have told my family no. I’m not all tech-savvy and into making my cell phone do a bunch of tricks, not unless they’re truly useful to me.

Is there really, definitely no way to force Bluetooth and WiFi to just be off, when I want them to be off, when I poke them in the Control Center, without resorting to pawing through the already-over-bloated list of lists that is the Settings screen?

Any tips, suggestions, recommendations, and/or ridicule are welcome. Heaven help me. Lol

The Settings in control center do not turn off bluetooth or wifi. They Merely disconnect from any wifi network or bluetooh device they are connected to.

This is only a temporary status and will again reconnect after some time has passed or a new different known wifi network is detected.

See here for details regarding that: Use Bluetooth and Wi-Fi in Control Center with iOS 11 and later - Apple Support

If you want to completely turn them off, then you need to do so from Settings. Both are at the very top of the Settings App, so should not cause to much trouble.
