When my iPhone rings, so does my husband's and when his rings, so does mine. What in our settings is causing this and how can it be resolved?

Go to Settings >Phone > Calls on other devices. If it is turned on, turn it off.
Also check your Facetime and Message settings to make sure you don't have each others email or phone numbers on for those services.
It is truly not advisable to share an Apple ID. But we know many do and you can avoid this if you plan to continue sharing the same Apple ID.

Do both of them use the same number?
No, we have separate numbers but share one Apple ID. We have iPhones for 10 years, but are just now having this issue.
Stop sharing an Apple ID. You each need your own.
