how to unsync old iPhone 5c from new iPhone 7s ?

I purchased my new iPhone 7 early this year, but kept my old iPhone 5c (because it has a lot of downloaded music I don't want to lose). Problem is, I can't unsync my old phone, from my new one. There's no sim card in the old one anymore, but it keeps adding apps, photos and music that I'm putting on my new phone...which is what I don't want. I don't want to plug in my old phone into my MacBook Air, because the last time I did that, iTunes erased a lot of my music. What's the step by step procedure to unsync my old phone? Thanks community!

Sign out of your apple id on the 5C so icloud photo doesn't download to it, or turn photos off in settings - icloud.

On your iphone 7 - settings - app/itunes store - auto download uncheck music and apps.
