Three character typing!

I am using a usb keyboard to type on my late 2011, 13inch Mac Pro at the moment as the inbuilt keyboard appears to be recognising only the middle section of keys on the keyboard!

For example, pressing say 'q' does nothing. Pressing 'z' does nothing, but pressing 'a' will display 'aqz'.

Can anyone please help with a solution.

Try another keyboard (doesn't have to be from Apple). If it works ok, the inbuilt one is most likely damaged and needs repair.

Many thanks, my suspicions have been confirmed. I thought there may have been some keyboard combination depressed, changing the character map of the keyboard while wiping it over when the computer was on (doh)!
