IOS13 Mail outlook.com duplicate sent items

This has bugged me with MacOS Mail for years, and with iOS13 Mail I now have the problem on the iphone (6s)

I have 4 email accoonts, one icloud account (no problems) and 3 Outlook.com accounts. All 3 now store duplicate sent items in the app.

They are not stored on the server sent folder, and only one copy is received by the recipient.

I have deleted the accounts and added back.

Thete is no setting on webmail to help me.

IOS 11 and 12 did not have this problem though MacOS have had it for years. Its no doubt a Microsoft glitch but only shows up in 13.

Any help, or others testing this would be appreciated.

We are seeing this currently only with corporate mail and iPhone 8+ and older phones running v 13 and 13.1. We deleted the mail profile from 2 devices and reinstalled and the problem came back. We use Exchange 2016 on prem w/ Active Sync and Airwatch MDM.  If a user has an iphone with just personal mail we do not see the problem.   If we add a personal mail account to a corp phone with the double sent problem the personal mail account is fine. The double item is not presented in OWA or Outlook client.

Interestingly when you open the double sent items on the phone - one of the two will then disappear.  (it is always the first of the two that are showing on the phone that gets deleted).  Kind of like the message was staged for sending, and when actually sent in generated a second sent item entry.  Open that first one and it goes away…

Now, if you delete the item from Outlook or OWA first, it deletes the 2nd item showing as sent from the phone.  Now go to the first item of the double items sent on the phone and open it and it does not auto-magically delete... Not sure how that helps but at least wanted to put it out there...

I can confirm similar issue with Google Sync. i.e gmail configured as Exchange for push in the native IOS Mail app. Any email composed on the device appears twice in sent items. The first appears to be a local copy, the second is the one synced with the server. Viewing or deleting the first copy doesn’t affect the server copy and vice versa. This is only since 13.1.2 though.

That suggestion didn’t work for me either. I’m also on iPad 13.1.2 having to delete inbox twice, although only one shows in deleted items. I guess it’s the same issue, a local copy and a server copy.

I can’t understand why this isn’t mentioned widely in reality not that many users reporting here. ?

ive given on my iPhone and moved to outlook different but works well. Need to keep account just for contacts if you want iMessage to see them.

What is point of Apple communities under Apple site when no one from Apple looks at it... or are they hiding behind names. I wrote twice and was deleted and sure by a person called Sergekills from Russia...

I am surprise they release 3 versions which contains bugs and frustrating it is.

so does outlook app able to work with all email address

This started happening to me yesterday. Duplicate sent messages in outlook sent folder in mail app. IOS 12 was ok so guess IOS 13.1.2 is the culprit.

i was going to try deleting the account and re-installing it but note others have said this did not work.

my Outlook reminders have also all gone crazy, duplicate reminders and not syncing between devices

so far my outlook calendar is OK.

i much prefer using Outlook for mail, reminders and calendar as my husband has an android phone.

i see people have commented about using Outlook instead, do they mean downloading the Outlook app?

i have lodged a complaint via Apple feedback about the duplicate sent emails

I have not bothered live chatting Apple as am fed up of being told I am “awesome” and that they “understand how frustrating the issue is for me” before they leave me on hold for ages and then blame Microsoft or my phone provider.

People should not delete since it makes no difference - it is clear a buggy version which was untested. Another user recommended outlook app and I am happy, it is different but we always get used to differences.

I am still surprise how apple did 3 version updates matter of days knowing very well it was buggy from start... lack real tests on changes

I am going to wait and see if Apple do a fix on this bug before I resort to Outlook app as I have a number of email accounts

( gmail etc) and the mail app is the easiest way to check them.

wish I had not downloaded IOS 13 and had waited a few weeks.

IOS 12 update was OK so I 2as fooled into thinking IOS13 would also be bug free. BIG MISTAKE!

I too have this issue. Funny though. Seems to be well kept under wraps. Nothing being mentioned on sites like BGR or 9to5. That’s curious. Anyway I have major problems like all of you with mail/o365 (especially). Duplicate sent. Unable to delete. Truncated messages. Etc. I remember back in the day when blackberry would release a buggy OS - the market was relentless in their attacks, coverage in the paper, their stock price would take a hit. Here we have Apple doing the same thing with the crappy iOS 13 release and no one seems to even notice even though it affects one of the most important functions of this product - specifically for business owners. Hmm, back to BB Key 2 ? At least the email works.

I have all of the same issues as all of you, and have tried everything that you have to no avail. There were also other issues that I have successfully worked through.

every new iOS version since v5, and Steve Jobs dying, has been very buggy and getting worse. I hat upgrading iOS versions and they change things that worked fine for the worse!

tine to get an Android phone off this isn’t addressed soon. Lease is up and fed up with Apple and always blaming Microsoft, which has passed them in my opinion on stable releases!

No point in cutting off a limb to treat fungal nail. I would never go back to Droid and its "one upgrade and you're out" feature and weak security.

If anything there are too many people loading beta versions to see the latest thing but not actually testing them.

If I had two iphones I may beta test but as this 6S has run all versions from 10 to 13 almost flawlessly I don't need to upgrade yet. I'll stick with Apple.

I have a beta version and I reported the problem since it came out. I immediately advised apple through the “feedback” app and after a few weeks , apple sent me an email saying the issue was fixed, but eventually wasn’t true . I also advised them about other issues on calendar etc but all of them still unsolved . I think is very normal that after so many weeks , customers start to feel nervous.

Apple has focus in forcing users to update with reminders. Neither corporate or end users have the option to test beforehand or even the option to revert to prior version. I find it insulting for a Company Like Apple which came in with 3 versions within a period of 1 month which are buggy... Blackberry admitted their faults... Microsoft admitted their errors... Apple, lets delete the complainers and keep it out of press. New ver 13.1.2 is full of bugs and not just duplicates but also rendering of web sites.

I am still shocked Apple not looking at Apple communities and some moderators are deleting opinions which faults apple - They deleted 3 of my messages.
