IOS13 Mail outlook.com duplicate sent items

This has bugged me with MacOS Mail for years, and with iOS13 Mail I now have the problem on the iphone (6s)

I have 4 email accoonts, one icloud account (no problems) and 3 Outlook.com accounts. All 3 now store duplicate sent items in the app.

They are not stored on the server sent folder, and only one copy is received by the recipient.

I have deleted the accounts and added back.

Thete is no setting on webmail to help me.

IOS 11 and 12 did not have this problem though MacOS have had it for years. Its no doubt a Microsoft glitch but only shows up in 13.

Any help, or others testing this would be appreciated.

Wahoo we waited long enough...

  • Fixes issues in Mail that may prevent downloading new messages
  • Addresses an issue that prevented deleting messages in Gmail accounts
  • Resolves issues that could cause incorrect characters to display in messages and duplication of sent messages in Exchange accounts

my battery is 17% lol need to charge before it will allow me to update. Best of luck everyone is this a very merry Christmas from Apple?

I am having the exact same issue. Only after update to ios13. Then 13.1.1, 13.1.2, now 13.1.3. No change. I am running g-suites and an exchange account. Same issue on iPhone X and iPad Pro. Never an issue with previous iOS versions. Contacted Apple support and am continually adding comments to my case number. The guy from Apple said it might have something to do with single server accounts? C’mon Apple... let’s get this obvious bug fixed!

Updated to iOS 13.2 last evening. Nothing is fixed on the duplicates, either on the iPhone nor the iPad. After a hard re-boot, I was optimistic at first... the very first e-mail I sent through the Mail App only shows up in SENT folder once... but the 2nd one, and all afterwards, are duplicated still.

I am using only G-Suites as our back office - not Outlook nor Outlook.com! My personal e-mail, with incoming and outgoing servers being different, is not affected. Only the single server business e-mail account has Dup's. in the SENT folder.

Apple - this is an iOS issue that should have been resolved by now after 4 updates to iOS 13! Please review this issue and send us all an update that solves this issue so we can stop talking about it and wasting everyone's time. None of us experienced this issue prior to iOS 13.

What amazes me is that it took me three days and two bumps to get any response and despite my requesting help not one single member of any standing (i.e. above level 1) has contributed by testing it.

Yet I know that the higher levels have access to things like conference calls that can get this looked at.

If a support agent cannot escalate to third level support, who can?

In the mean time everyone should post a bug report at https://www.apple.com/feedback/

Release 13.2 has fixed two and maybe three of the annoyances for me (at least so far). Note I rebooted the phone after applying the patch.

  1. When I forward a message, the original message thread is in tact AND 2. the icon indicator that the message was forwarded is synced and shows in Outlook! Tested on 5 forwards - curious if anyone else see this fixed now.

To note, if I Reply to a message however, the Outlook icon indicating a reply does not sync. I can see the indicator on the iPhone but it does not sync to Outlook.

  1. My phone is receiving pushes without having to swipe to request them.

Still double Sent Items, Still have to open an item twice on the phone to see it was sent, still have to delete an item twice on the phone for it to delete.

Have had one hand since the update but can't elaborate on the what or why.

My experience is similar to sm_philly - as of 13.2, the double sent items are still always there - as before, if I compose a new mail, then one of the sent items disappears if I click on both.

However, before 13.2, reply and forward status would not sync to the server (Outlook webmail) - now it seems to - I get the little arrows on outlook as well as on the phone (it was always fine in the other direction syncing from outlook to the phone).

In terms of having to double delete new mails - for me, that is only necessary if I am quick enough that the read flag does not clear once you open the mail then delete it.

So clearly apple have fixed somethings, but still broken.

Have just updated my iPad to iOS 13.2.3 and sent myself a test email from my outlook email using the mail app and there was no duplicate in the sent box! Yippee I thought, problem solved, so I updated my iPhone

I then thought I would send another test email from my iPad and the duplicate sent emails are back in sent.

Tried the same test on iPhone and first test email didn’t have a duplicate sent email but second and subsequent ones did!!

BOO TO APPLE

that was a issue for me in the previous release, but was fixed in the latest along with the delete issue. Still have issues with mail app badge showing new emails but you open the app and they are not there until you refresh. Sometimes connection to server failed etc I gave up

with Apple support everybody tells you different if you miss a call from your case manager then you are unable to reach them again and are assigned a new case manager well that was for my case anyway. Maybe I was just unlucky

Hi, after update 13.2.3 one week ago on my iPad 3rd generation and iPhone 8plus I have had the same issue. I deleted the account on iPad only but then had no exchange to re add as I use hotmail. So I added via outlook. All good except this duplicate sent file but receiver only gets one email. My iPhone has exchange and my emails are doing the exact same thing. Now when I delete my sent file then go and delete my bin file from my iPad it only deletes these duplicates on my iPad but I have to manually delete them from my iPhone. Sync is on and works for all other emails and sent and bin it’s only the emails I send from either device. Apple can’t help me and can not explain why I no longer have exchange and had to use outlook. So my iPhone is using exchange and my iPad is using outlook. I don’t know what to do. Should I delete the accounts on both devices and re install both using outlook or leave it alone for now and hopefully it is an outlook issue or Apple does another update? I do have Microsoft Echange on my iPad but that didn’t work.
