Google requires completing authentication in Safari Failure

Is anyone else seeing this problem? My MacBook Pro just updated and my mail began to fail to update. When I removed the Google account and tried to add it back again I keep hitting this dead-end. When I select "Open Safari" button I get absolutely nothing in Safari.

If Safari is open I get no new page.

If Safari is not open it will trigger the Safari app to start but then I see nothing in the Safari webpage.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks,

I just got off a chat with Apple help, and what worked for me was restarting in Safe mode (restart, hold down shift until you see the Apple logo)and trying again.

If it works in the Safe Mode, try running this program when booted normally and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown. If the log won’t post, try posting it in Pastebin and provide a link in a reply. After pasting the report in a PasteBin page, go to the top of the page, and copy the address in the URL bar. Paste that in a new reply. Pastebin

I was able to get it completed in Safe mode and then rebooted back into normal mode and it was still working fine. I did not make any other changes during the exercise. Hope you get it working.

I tried booting in Safe Mode again... did a few send and receive emails... then rebooted.

Everything works.

It never asked for any sort of authentication or passwords.

OK.

Guess I'm good!

This appears to be a bug in Safari 13. There have been multiple posts by people having the same problem.

If you want to, you can send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner.

Apple just updated Safari and one of the updates was specifically about Google authentication. However, it still doesn't work. I still get the behavior described above. I'm using an iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017) running macOS Mojave 10.14.6, using Safari 13.0.1 and Mail 12.4

I've been struggling with the same issue for a couple days now. Another support community chat suggested updating the version of Safari to 13.0.1. I did that but it doesn't resolve the problem :(

Hoping an Apple, Safari or Google expert can help us all resolve!!
