Synchronizing Contacts

OK, I have followed every aspect of this sync business and still, when I make a change to a contact on my iPhone it does not propagate to my Mac. Does sync really work?

Have you tried the steps listed in:

  1. If your iCloud Contacts, Calendars, or Reminders won’t sync - Apple Support
  2. Keep your contacts up to date on all of your devices with iCloud - Apple Support?
