Thank you. What was confusing to me (a nubie) was the Apple logo and header choices when the app appeared and subsequently downloaded! Apple support stepped me thru deleting the app. I still don't know if it is a legitimate app.

If there were safe way to make your Mac faster, Apple would already have included it. Third-party Speeder-Uppers and Optimizers are also a scam.
If an app proclaims that it will protect your Mac from viruses it is not a legitimate app. As for the specific app you are asking about I do not have any knowledge about its legitimacy.
