Accidental minimal water damage

I accidentally spilled a bit of water onto my MacBook Pro. If anything, majority went underneath laptop (onto my desk) and a bit on the trackpad and beside it. I dried it to the best of my ability, turned it off and will flip it upside down for 48 hours. If it turns on in 48 hours, should I still bring it into Apple to get looked at? I worry down the road it may cause issues, but I am also a poor college student that truly cannot afford any additional services I may need.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

The damage is already done no matter what. The laptop may power on and work once the water evaporates, but this doesn't mean the laptop is safe. Eventually corrosion will most likely set in on the electronics and cause the laptop to fail. Sooner or later the laptop will most likely need service.
