This iPad model isn’t being released until 9/30.
Apple's tech specs for this model does NOT mention any fully laminated display and they do for other iPad models, like the new 10.5 inch screen iPad Air 3, the new iPad Mini 5 and iPad Pro models.
So, based on the tech spec info for the 7th gen 10.2 inch iPad, there is NO LAMINATED DISPLAY.
So, the same air gap between glass and display still exists.
No Trutone display
No P3 high color gamut
No anti-reflective coating on the glass.
This iPad has near identical external and internal specs of the 2018 6th gen iPad with the exception that the 7th gen iPad has a 1/2 inch larger diagonal screen at 10.2 inches instead of the old standard 9.7 inch screen.
It appears Apple wanted to keep the price point of this larger screen 7th gen iPad at the same price points as the previous 6th gen model.
So, it looks like Apple did some feature cost cutting to keep the prices the same and keep this iPad model as an entry-level iPad.
Ironically, the new iPad Mini 5 has all of the better screen specs than the 7th gen iPad, but the iPad Mini 5 sells for more.
