MacBook Air 2018 glitch on wake up

When I open up my MacBook Air 2018, the screen goes dark blue (almost black) and the apple logo glitches upwards off the screen. I now cannot use my laptop because of this issue.

Please help!

Hello zara97,

Thanks for asking the Apple Support Communities for help with your MacBook Air. I am happy to check this out with you.

You mention this is occurring when the computer wakes from sleep, is this understanding correct?

1. Please start with the troubleshooting provided in this help article: If your Mac doesn't sleep or wake when expected - Apple Support

I understand the computer is sleeping properly, but there is some troubleshooting in the article that is still valid. Specifically, these two two sections may apply. First, the section titled "If your Mac doesn't wake when you expect." Second, try the steps under "If the previous steps don't work."

If you have gone through all the steps and are testing in safe mode and the issue does not occur there, there is follow up troubleshooting in the safe mode article titled "If an issue doesn't happen in safe mode". There is also a step to see if the issue occurs in a test user or not, with follow on troubleshooting in the sections titled "If the issue doesn't happen in the other account" or "If the issue happens in the other account".

If you do need more assistance with this, please let us know if the issue occurs in safe mode or the test user, or not at all in either, when replying back. Also, please let us know what you usually have to do to get it working again, or if it is unable to be used currently. Thanks and have a wonderful day.
