Am I correct in assuming that the 6th Generation iPod will not receive any more SW upgrades? How about the 7th Generation? I really like these smaller devices. My iPhone is larger.

Thank you for your response. I do not understand if they give to the 7 the 6 is almost identical, as far as I can see, so they should both be covered. But who am I to say what goes on. In any case thank you for your response. I will still keep my 6th Gen as it is so useful.
1. Nobody on these boards can say for certain.
2. The seventh generation iPod touch will be able to update to iOS 13 after it's out on the 24th.

Almost identical is not identical. Apple have stated that the 6th generation Touch will not get iOS 13.

The iPod 6G has an A8 chip and 1 GB RAM, the 7G has an A10 chip and 2 GB RAM. Quite a difference.
