Problem with downloading Office on my MacBook AIr

Hi! I have a MacBook Air from 2012 that doesn't want to download Office because you need to have MacOS version 10.12.0 or later. I have 10.11.6 but I have updated the computer today but still it doesn't work. What can I do?

Are you sure you upgraded it to macOS Sierra, check under About This Mac.

Depending on your Macs model and its year will determine which macOS you can upgrade to,

read the following links.

Before upgrading make a full back up of your Mac.

Check that third party apps you use have updates available for the new OS.

Check that your printers/ scanners etc have updated drivers and software available for the new OS.
