MacBook Pro 2019 with external Dell monitor(s).

Hello,

I know this topic has been discussed to death, but I have tried everything to no avail.

I have a MacBook Pro 2019 with Pro Vega 20 video card purchased a month ago. Trying to hook it up to external Dell U3014 monitor (native resolution 2560 x 1600) and, separately, to Dell U2715H monitor (native resolution 2560x1440) with same results. I get full native resolution however the fonts are "blurry" as shown in the screenshot below.

  • I am using USB-C to DisplayPort Cable that "supports 4K" purchased on amazon here
  • Monitor is set to have Input Color Format: RGB and Gamma: MAC
  • I have tried the Ruby script forcing the RGB mode (even though not sure it was necessary due to the point above) with no luck.
  • I have tried turning "Use font-smoothing when available" on and off in Settings -> General with no luck.
  • I have tried messing around with Display Contrast settings in Accessibility with no options.
  • I have turned "true tone" on/off. BTW it gives reddish hue to the external monitor.

Exact same thing happens with the other Dell monitor I have (Dell U2715H) with same outcome.

I am running Mojave 10.14.6

Does anybody have any ideas I could try... running out of options here :(

Thank you.
