my ad blocker stopped working with upgrade to Safari 13.0

My ad blocker stopped working when I upgraded to Safari 13.0. Is there anyway to downgrade to the previous version of Safari? The web is terrible now that every page is littered with advertisements.

There is no downgrade, short of rolling in your macOS backups prior to macOS Catalina.

Your preferred ad-blocker will need to be converted to the newer Content Blocker interface, or an alternative selected.

Or switch to Firefox, or some other alternative browser.

These changes have been underway for several years, and on both iOS and macOS.
