iPhone 11 on iOS 13 having Bluetooth connectivity issues

New iPhone 11 on iOS 13 is having Bluetooth connectivity issues.

both my daughter and I are having the similar issues.

daughters phone is an 11 64GB Purple.

mine is an 11 128GB White

Hers gets connected to her 2018 Toyota C-HR and constantly drops out. Her iPhone 7 Plus never had any issues.

I have mine connected to a Boss BT module on my motorcycle. Never had any issues with my iPhone X.

neither of our other phones we’re running iOS 13.

I updated to 13.1.2 It looks like "MOST" of my issues have been fixed with this latest update. My 2012 Scion xB stock stereo is now not dropping or getting garbled calls. My iFrogz headphones are now staying connected when paused in Pandora.

The only remaining bug(s) I'm seeing are:

  1. Hey Siri is somewhat spotty. Like the phone isn't hearing me sometimes. Very random.
  2. When placing a call via Hey Siri in my car, the bluetooth connection between my iphone 11 and my scion xB, will connect/disconnect several times before the dialing sound starts. Once the dialing starts, it stays connected.

I contacted my auto manufacturer (Chrysler), and was told that the latest iPhone that they guarantee to 100% compatible with their vehicles is the iPhone 8. They say they won't guarantee any phone later than that to work. I was surprised since my iPhone XS worked flawlessly. I didn't start having problems until I got my iPhone 11 Pro.

Which tells you a lot about Chrysler; the iPhone 8 was introduced in 2017, which means they haven't bothered to test their software for around three years.

Auto companies do a really, really bad job of keeping up with technology, and three years in the phone business (as with the computer business) is forever.

This is one reason why sales of in-car GPS units with their $500 annual map updates is way down unless they are forced upon you in an option package in favor of always live map app updates on drivers' phones.

I don’t believe it’s the phone, I believe it is the IOS. I drive a MERCEDES, AUDI and JAGUAR.

The JAGUAR is the only car I have trouble connecting with.

There is a configuration issue with the phone connection component of the Bluetooth that the IOS runs ( my music still streams fine in the Jag ).

I have had the Jag to the dealer 3 times with this issue - they blame Apple and the current IOS.

all Jags and Landrovers of a certain age ( meaning with a certain infotainment system ) are having this trouble.

I just wish APPLE would listen to these stories as we are all very frustrated !

Older apple phones work because they aren’t capable of running the most current IOS.

my Apple 7 had no issues.
