pdf and merging with an excel list

I have on the one hand a pdf file, on the other hand a list in excel. What I need is to merge the data into different pdfs - there are some 900 names and file numbers I have to fill in, so doing it by hand is ... a bit tiresome ...

Does anyone know a good program to do this automatically?

Since you have Excel I assume you also have Microsoft Word. Depending on the PDF file you can do one of two things to place it into Word. 1) many PDF files can be opened into Word and translated into a Word document. That may not be a good solution for this task but keep it in mind. 2) Open a blank WP document and drag the PDF into the window. You can resize it to your satisfaction. Then, obviously, you can use the Excel file as your data source to do a mail merge. From there you can print the merge to PDF.
