What does it mean when the yellow focus box pulses - in iOS 13.1 on iPhone 11 Pro Max

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today with your iPhone 11 Pro Max camera. The pulse you see is the camera focusing on the subject in your photo. Once the pulsing stops, you know that your camera has completed the focus.

"You can change the camera focus and exposure to a specific area. Before you take the photo, tap the place on the screen that you want to adjust. If you want to keep the focus and exposure in the same spot, press and hold on the screen until you see AE/AF Lock."
