i lost my Macbook 12” in Paris a month ago. how do I report it lost

Hi guys. I lost my Macbook 12” in Paris about three weeks ago, either on the flight from Johannesburg to Paris or in the hotel. I have contacted the hotel, no luck! Also reported it on Lost and Found on Air France, no luck so far.

Will it be possible to send a message to the screen of the Macbook if or when it gets connected to the Internet? I am willing to offer a reward if found....

i just need a way to give the “new owner” a chance to return it to me, if found or to render it useless

tx

Your chances of recovery is getting slimmer by the moment, especially since it's been a month since you lost your MacBook.

However, the link JimmyCMPIT has provided you would be the first steps to try. The key is, whether or not, you enabled "Find My Mac" on this notebook BEFORE it was lost. If not, then your only options are to change your Apple ID password and report this to law enforcement.

If you did have this enabled, then the article should take you through the options (locate, lock, or erase) it.
