How do I restore iPhone Xr after attempting to install iOS 13.1? I get error msg 4013, and will not restore or recover. This is when connected to a 2011 Mac Mini running Sierra, with the latest version of iTunes.

What specifically is the latest version of iTunes? It must be 12.8.2 or later.
Thank you for the link, I've already been there, tried the 7 or 8 step button press to get it into DFU mode, which it appears not to enter, and will not restore or recover through itunes either. Again, thank you for your time!

I figured out the problem! It appears that the phone CANNOT be updated when in an Apple Smart Charging case. I didn't see any note of this in their literature with the case, but when I took the phone out of the case this morning and tried it again, it worked, and is now almost completely restored! I did NOT see any notice of this in their literature, FYI. Hope this info helps!
