How do I print highlight colours/background colours in an email message in Mail?

I'd like to highlight portions of text in an email message in Mail (i.e. in yellow) and then print the message with the selected text still highlighted - but can't find any way to do this! It's not a printer setting and the option isn't given anywhere in Mail that I can see. Even in the print preview, the highlighted text is no longer so. I gather this is about printing background colours. Any ideas would be an enormous help, thank you!

Looks like your best bet is to Pint>PDF>Save as PDF, then in Preview Highlight that text then acxtually Print it.
